California Team Takes Top Honours at 2010 Canon EnvirothonTeams from 45 States and 9 Canadian Provinces Competed in One of North America's Largest High School Environmental Education Competitions LAKE SUCCESS. N.Y., August 9, 2010 - A five-member team of high school students from Arlington High School, California, is the winner of the 2010 Canon Envirothon. The winning team was announced on Friday, August 6th, during the closing ceremony of the weeklong North American environmental education competition held at the California State University, Fresno, and sponsored by Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in advanced digital imaging. More than 270 teenagers from 45 U.S. states and 9 Canadian provinces studied environmental issues and resource conservation, while competing for a share of more that $125,000 in scholarships and Canon products. Adopt-a-HighwayThe Fall Roadside clean-up begins September 1st and will run through October 31st. Individuals, non-profit organizations, service clubs and businesses may apply to take responsibility for a stretch of highway. New groups must complete the Adopt-a-Highway Form and send to: Over and above improving our roadsides, the clean-up and the signs will help educate the public, and that means reducing future litter.
